Does Medicare pay for Long Term Care?
Yes if qualifications are met. Person must be in patient in a hospital for at least three days,( Very Important- a Diagnosis must be given for the visit, it cannot be for observation only) and then the first 100 days of Skilled Nursing will be covered. If there is still a need for care after the 100 days has run out, if eligible Medicaid will pay or a person’s long term care insurance policy or last resort the family will need to pay for ongoing care. It will also depend on type of care that is needed; skilled nursing or a home health care aide.
What is the difference between Medicare and Medicaid?
Medicare is federal program that provides insurance for people over age 65 and the disabled. Medicaid is a partnership between the federal government and the states that provides benefits for those that meet the income needs.

Is it too late to buy insurance?
Perhaps, age and health status will determine a person’s eligibility to purchase coverage.
Why do I need Disability Insurance? Don’t I have Workers’ Compensation to protect my ability to work?
Workers’ Compensation only covers you if your disability results from an injury or illness sustained on the job. Disability insurance, however, provides coverage regardless of where you are when you get sick or injured and cannot work. Most self-employed individuals do not have Workers’ Compensation coverage.
What if I am unable to purchase Long-Term Care Insurance?
If you are uninsurable due to current or past health conditions, there are alternative ways to fund the care you may need.
Can I buy Life Insurance if I use THC?
Yes, you can. However, several factors come into play, including how you use THC. If you smoke or vape, you may be classified as a smoker, but you can still qualify for life insurance.
What happens to the life insurance my spouse and I have already purchased if we get divorced?
In most cases, the coverage will remain in place, though you may need to make changes to the ownership or beneficiary designations.
Can my business pay the premiums for my disability insurance coverage and take the tax deduction?
Yes, your business can pay the premiums and take the tax deduction. However, if you do this, any benefits you receive in the event of disability would likely be fully taxable as income. It’s often better not to take the deduction, so that any benefits you receive will be tax-free.
